Diana’s Passport – The interesting part of page 2 is that it shows that Diana renewed her previous passport (from 1946 – see Mozart essay also in the “Grace Notes” section) in 1953 when she was working as a lab-tech and medical photographer at Rochester. Also on the bottom of page 3, Diana, or maybe Ted, crossed out the Occupation noting a change on page 8 but, by the time various other paperwork required filling in, forgot to update to soprano soloist or whatever other occupation.
Back to page 2, the amusing part is the preprinted signature on the bottom of Secretary of State, John Foster Dulles. Diana would always laugh when PBS would re-air the old clip of an early routine Carol Burnett did singing a song, “I’m in Love with John Foster Dulles.”
